Faction Artwork Sneak Peek!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 17, 2020 at 02:19:20 PM

Hello Migrators,

First of all, from our entire team, I want to express to all of our backers how much we appreciate your ongoing support and feedback...it has been overwhelming! :)

GAME DEVELOPMENT

With four days remaining in the campaign, we continue to refine Migration Mars and add new modes and expansions based on backer requests. Each concept needs to be tested and tuned to insure the balance of the game is maintained, thus allowing for numerous outcomes. Consequently, our team has been dedicating basically all of their time in support of this endeavor to deliver a game that provides numerous layers of enjoyment and game play. Currently, there is a solo mode and a 5-player mode that are being tested -- please stay tuned for more updates.

FACTION ARTWORK DRAFTS

The faction artwork has been ongoing as we prepare different faction ID cards that would introduce asymmetry into the game. Below is a sneak peek of some of the designs being explored...

The faction cards will be included as a stretch goal at $150K, but we've committed to offering them in the BackerKit pledge manager as an add-on expansion if it's not reached.

FOUR DAYS LEFT...HOW YOU CAN HELP!

As we come to the home stretch of our campaign, we are hoping to hit some of our final stretch goals. Here are a couple ways you can help...

1. Share our Kickstarter campaign. If you love Migration Mars, we appreciate you sharing our campaign to your social media or directly with someone you think might also enjoy it. As they say, sharing is caring. :)

2. Follow our Facebook page and/or our Instagram Page. We are up to 1177 followers on Facebook and 108 on Instagram, for a total of 1285. By following and sharing the posts, we can hit the social goal of 2000 followers for a Kickstarter exclusive and also help with the stretch goals. Plus, you can weigh in on your Mars Explorer Name and who would be your preferred co-captain!

Thanks once again for your support, it's looking like we're going to have a great group of backers on our way to Mars!

Kind regards,

Trevor

GamePlay Improvements and Expanded Event Card Sneak Peek!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 17, 2020 at 02:06:16 AM

Hello Migrators!

Thank you everyone, for all the feedback and support throughout the campaign so far, we are so grateful for all of you!

We have been working and testing 24 new events (and counting) for the expanded deck, as well as revising all of the existing event cards.

These  include: Search and Rescue missions, Peace Negotiations, Solar Flares, Code Encryptions, Stowaways, more diverse meteorite strikes, potato gardens, and much more!

We  are excited to say this process is going great! All of the events now implement more player interaction and offer multiple strategic decisions to reduce the ‘luck factor’ and minimize negative results for a more enjoyable experience.

We still retain the randomized nature in many of the mechanics, as the core of the game is to navigate the unknown. Many elements that were once simply chance, now have several layers of outcome that often involve all players.

Nearly all of the events now feature either a [command decision] badge that indicates a calculated choice is required, and/or a [trade asset] badge that indicates an event may be utilized later the game or even traded as an asset.

We have also designed Ancient Ruin Passages into the terrain board that  provide bonus incentives for expanding your colony further. This will give more purpose to your building selection and invite more  interactivity among territories.

We will continue to test and elevate aspects of the game, including the faction ID cards, which we hope to release sneak peek designs next week. As we refine many of the details, we inch towards improving the play experience each day and appreciate all of your feedback.

Lastly, please stay tuned as we will be releasing a play-through video in the next few days.

Thanks so much for your support!

Each sticker will be approximately 3"x3” quality vinyl, and the buttons are 1” round.

ADD-ONS

Many of the merchandise items in the SWAG pack will be available as individual add-ons. See the new ADD-ON section in the campaign story.

We will also offer most (if not all) of the stretch goals that remain unlocked, along with other optional game components currently being developed, once we finalize designs and pricing. These add-ons will be offered after the campaign in the BackerKit pledge manager where you can track our progress and update any future delivery address before final shipment.

SURVEYS

In an effort to be proactive and meet our aggressive timeline, we are in the process of sending out surveys to our backers... so please be on the lookout!  You'll notice that one of the questions is your first preferred language if we were to offer Migration Mars in multiple languages in the first printing.  If you've followed some of the comments, we are receiving requests for French, German and Spanish, and we want to get a head count to see if there are economies of scale that make it feasible to offer multiple languages.  Thank you in advance for filling out your survey, it helps a great deal as we plan!

Lastly, we just want to send out another thank you for your continued support, feedback, and harmony in making this the best possible game -- we truly appreciate all of you! :)

Another Stretch Goal Unlocked... and this one is SHINY!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 16, 2020 at 11:07:28 AM

YOU DID IT FELLOW MIGRATORS!

We unlocked another stretch goal and the first Kickstarter exclusive!

Spot metallic printing will be incorporated to give a holographic look to graphic elements that will increase the appearance in many of the cards and assets.

Thank you so much for all your support. We will continue to prepare for the upcoming stretch goals and plan their seamless implementation into the game.

FUTURE ADD-ONS

We have had lots of questions about the add-ons that will be available in the BackerKit pledge manager following our campaign and we've received great direction from our growing community -- thank you!

Within the next few days, expect to see a new add-on section to the campaign to clarify much of what will be available (shirts, stickers, card sleeves, etc).  We have created some of the add-ons to be Kickstarter Exclusives under the prestigious title of "Martian Ambassador".

THANK YOU TO OUR GROWING COMMUNITY

The support of our backers has been overwhelming, and from all of our team we want to send a warm thank you to each of you!  We are excited to grow Enhance Games with this wonderful core group and please know you have the great appreciation of an aspiring board game publisher.

Lastly, we want to give a shout out to Kickstarter who featured us on their homepage, thank you so much for your support!

Kind regards,

Trevor and Ryan

Two New Stretch Goals... One Just Unlocked!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 16, 2020 at 11:06:45 AM

Hey Migrators,

We have been overwhelmed by the support of our backers and can't thank you enough for all of the positive feedback and ideas!  With the support and urging of backers, we have have recently adopted two new stretch goals...

EMERGENCY FUEL CELLS | $75K -- UNLOCKED

We have discussed and tested out the concept of adding a supply that allows you the option to advance your ROVER beyond your roll during the exploration portion of your turn. This asset implements nicely into the gameplay as we had a similar element in an event card.

We made this action into its own supply card deck and is more obtainable throughout the game for an exciting added dynamic to rolling. With this supply card, you will have more control over your landing placement, however you will still need to strategize and weigh out when to utilize the fuel cells based on the circumstances of the game. Your resource collection will still greatly depend on your production buildings and your mining capabilities that you manage  throughout the game.

Now that the stretch goal is unlocked, we will update the rule book and player mat to reflect this addition after the campaign.

EXPANDED EVENT CARD DECK | $125K

Once this stretch goal is met, we will include an expanded deck, exclusive to Kickstarter backers, that will feature extra bonuses, unique obstacles, and additional side missions. There are currently 34  events. An average game may experience about half of the events.

Our goal is to produce the best possible version of our game and  adding more, specialized events will increase player interaction in a positive way and make repeat play more unique and exciting.

NEW GAMEPLAY VIDEO

At the request of backers, we have posted a video onto our campaign showing setup and simulated gameplay. Please let us know if you have any other questions, but hopefully this will help backers better understand the various mechanisms and strategy that a player must consider and employ.

Thanks again to all of your for your support! Please feel free to share Migration Mars with friends, family and your board game groups... we couldn't do this without you. :)

Kind regards,

Trevor and Ryan
